“I’ve got two of these pens and I actually watched one being made, in person. And you feel like you’re in a little German shop with a tinker. And there are like fifty steps from picking the wood blank, to lathing it round, hollowing it out and putting the brass barrel (guts) in it, and then the layers upon layers of cyanomethacrylate gel varnish, and then SIX levels of polishing from like a thousand grit fine to “fine as glass” level stuff. Jack’s got wood blanks that are LITERALLY 3000+ years old. Apparently some nerds found a cache of wood (I guess practically a forest) underwater somewhere and the wood was preserved almost perfectly for thousands of years and now you can get it and make stuff with it.
