A keratin cyst is a little pocket of wax under the skin. There is a small thin capsule of tissue around it that keeps it from bursting. Sometimes they burst out of the skin which is fine. Other times they burst under the skin which creates a massive immune response and a festering sore. Very often the entire lesion has to be removed then. It is advised that you not squeeze Keratint cysts.
