Hepatic Lipidosis in Cats

This is a very simplified discussion of Hepatic Lipidosis in cats. It’s a condition where a very obese cat misses a few days of food. By accident, intent, illness, inability. Even just a fever can “put them off food” long enough for Lipidosis.

It’s an exaggerated release of fat from the body-stores which then clogs the liver. It’s VERY hard to reverse. It’s the MAIN reason I prefer owners to measure a cat’s food, choose a moderate-calorie diet, or employee an automatic measuring feeder. More inside the article.
