Every 15 to 20 years predictably, Ozone, OP, PP and oxidizing organics, ORP meters, make an appearance with the “discoverer” practically unaware the hobby had it’s “ripple” fifteen years ago.
What happens:
- Someone wades in as an expert.
- “Everyone needs this”
- People take up the charge and fight about effects, side effects, why do it, why not do it,
- Some fish die
- Many people overspend on some technology THEY ARE NOT STILL USING IN FIVE YEARS,
- …..and it’s done – for another fifteen to twenty years.
Best response is mine:
“Ozone, ionizers, oxidizing systems, and PP for bioremediation is critically important in a handful of applications and might find a lucrative market in a very small but well funded niche: Which are: Desperately overcrowded environments where water is expensive and filtration cannot, ever, be made safe or adequate. Public facilities may be “The Consumer” of this technology but the pond at Equilibrium does not and should not; need this, at all, on any level.” This technology is for systems that could never ‘do it on it’s own.”
